Lift Off Mystery Train by Suralin

Künstlerbiographie Suralin

From The Ashes Of The Regionally Active Bands HAPAQ LLOYD Und ENNY 75 Rose The Phoenix That Was To Become SURALIN. The Year 2009. The Pistons Behind The Band’s Engine Toni Fiegert Guitar And Alexander Warnke Vocals Guitar . Both Of Them Had Dabbled In Indie Rock For Almost Ten Years Had Experimented With Noise Rock And Explored The Possibilities Of The Raw Lo-Fi Sound. It Was At The End Of 2008 When They Decided To Leave Their Old Bands Behind And Tread New Paths With Drummer Steve Lößner. He Had Also Been In Bands Before The Interestingly Named SULCKY CHILD Or SPILLED STOUT And It Wasn’t Before Long That The New Rhythm Section Came To Completion Matthias Vogel Bassist With The Kraut/electronic Group RADAR Was On Board. The Boys Had A Band. The Band Didn’t Have A Name. Instead Of Wrecking Their Brains For A Fitting Monicker The Band Went Into Their Chemnitz Practice Room To Play With Sounds And To Define The Direction In Which Their New-Born Band Was To Run. It Was During One Of These Practice Session That The Band Was Christened SURALIN. SURALIN Refers To A German Brand Of Play Dough For Kids That Can Be Used To Create Different Shapes And Forms Until One Shape Is Made Permanent By Putting The Dough Into The Oven. That Is Exactly What Happened During Brand-New SURALIN’s Practice Session Trying Out And Shaping Things That Are Only Made Permanent If They Are Perfect. During This Very First Year Of Their Existence SURALIN Played Their First Few Shows And – In July 2010 - Put Out Their Debut “Leda” On Sweet Home Records Broken Silence . The Feedback The Band Received Was Euphoric. Intro One Of Germany’s Leading Music Publications Wrote “Their Intentions Not Only Turn Up In The Biog They Also Speak From Every Single Song On Their Debut – In The Shape Of High Complexity And Versatility.” Popmonitor.De Went So Far As To Say “Summing Up SURALIN One Easily Thinks Of These Words Guitar S Drums Bass. But One Could Just As Well Use These Words SONIC YOUTH GANG OF FOUR FUGAZI. And These INTERPOL BLOC PARTY EDITORS. However These Three Words Come To Mind At Once Intoxicating Angular And Catchy At The Same Time.” And Yes The Reviewers Were Spot On In Describing SURALIN’s New Sound. Intro Magazine Continued Their Review “SURALIN Are Right At Home Between Math- And Noise-Rock And The Dynamics Of Post Punk While They Also Weave Elements Of Psychedelia And Kraut Into Their Sound.” Almost Every Reviewer Came To The Same Conclusion “Leda” Was A Felicitous Debut Whose Potential Raised The Bar For Future Material. Draped With Such Laurels SURALIN Started Their First German Tour In The Autumn Of 2010 Also Supporting Such Noteworthy Acts As BRANT BJORK CHOKEBORE And SDNMT. In The Meantime German Filmmakers Had Discovered SURALIN Landing Them The Song „Lift Off~Mystery Train“ Off The „Leda“ Album On The Soundtrack For „Roadcrew“ Hitting The Cinemas In Autumn 2011 . There Were Tracks On A Few Compilations – And A Grey Winter In Chemnitz. The Winter Offered Enough Time To Keep Working On New Material. Which Is Why It Only Took Matthias Steve Toni And Alexander A Couple Of Months Before They Returned To The Studio In March 2011 To Record The Follow-Up To “Leda” – A Mere Two Years After The Band Was Born! “A General Dogsbody” Will Be Released In September 2011 Via Cargo Records. If You Are Curious About How The Band Went About Their Studio Work Check Out Their Video Blog On Motor.De. One Thing However Remains Certain SURALIN Will Stay True To Their Musical Framework But Its Borders Will Be Questioned Considerably. Guitar Vocals Alexander Warnke
Guitar Toni Fiegert
Bass Matthias Vogel
Drums Steve Lößner
