Siobhan Evelyn Magnus Born March 15 1990 Is An American Singer-Songwriter From Marstons Mills Massachusetts A Village In The Town Of Barnstable Massachusetts Within Cape Cod Who Is Currently A Finalist On The Ninth Season Of American Idol. She Currently Resides In Los Angeles During Her Run On The Show. Magnus Grew Up In The Town Of Barnstable Massachusetts And Is A 2008 Graduate Of Barnstable High School In Hyannis Massachusetts. Siobhan First Started Singing In A Fourth Grade Choral Concert When She Sang "Tomorrow" From The Play Annie. In School She Was A Member Of The Barnstable High School Drama Club. When The Drama Club Was Filmed For An Internet Reality Show By Warner Brothers She Was Featured As One Of Three Dorothys For The Play The Wizard Of Oz. Back In May 2008 In A Local Profile About Magnus's Singing Talent The Music Department Chair Of Her School District Was Quoted As Saying "Hands Down I Think She’d Win ‘American Idol'." She Auditioned But Wasn't Accepted Into The Berklee College Of Music. She Then Attended Salem State College But Dropped Out After One Semester Because She Felt Out Of Place As A Non-Partier. She Has Three Tattoos On Her Right Shoulder Is The Cover Image From Edward Gorey's Book The Gashlycrumb Tinies On Her Left Wrist Are The Words "I Find Hope" In Swahili And On Her Right Wrist Is A Heart With An X Through It. Magnus Previously Fronted An Alt-Rock Band Called Lunar Valve Which Last Played In 2009. She Is Currently An Apprentice Glassblower. Magnus Auditioned For American Idol In The Summer Of 2009 In Boston And Was One Of Two Massachusetts Contestants To Make The Finals Of American Idol. Siobhan Had Exposed A Lot Of Her Vocal Abilities On American Idol As She Shows An Extremely High Soprano Vocal Range. She Is Renowned For Performing Her High Notes In The Songs "Think" By Aretha Franklin And "Paint It Black" By The Rolling Stones. At Times These "whistle/belting Notes" Have Been Met With Critique From Simon Cowell Who Proposes Leaving The Notes Out So That It Shows The Shrieks Aren't Her Last Resort. On The Final Ten Show It Was Revealed That She Would Be A Participant In The Summer Tour. Magnus Is Currently The Only Contestant From The State Of Massachusetts To Become A Finalist In American Idol History.
