SOUNDS LIKE Old Man Gloom Breach Damnation A.D. Early Isis Mastodon Cursed Perth Express With A Hint Of Black Metal. HISTORY PLANKS Is A Three-Piece Band Founded In Early 2007 After The Old Band Of Frank Bass And Ralph Guitar/vocals ''hellstroem'' Broke Up. In Benny They Found An Incredible Drummer Who Also Plays Drums For A Crust Band Calles ''gunmob". The Band Comes From Mannheim/germany A City That Brought Such Bands As Stack Fear Is The Path To The Dark Side Black Shape Of Nexus Prone My Own Lies And Kommando Vollsaufen. All These Bands Originated From The Local Youth Centre And That's Also Where PLANKS Recorded Their Songs For Their Debut 12'' On Narshardaa Reords And The Songs For The Split 12'' With Their Friends In Tombs. The Split Was Released By Black Box Recordings In The US And Will See A European Version On Prügelprinz Records From Mannheim. They Played Alot Of Shows So Far Including Appearances At Several Of Germany's Bigger Independent Hxc/doom Festivals. They Toured The UK Together With Tombs Which Have A Relapse Deal By Now!!! In Late 2008. There Are Plans For A New Record By The End Of 2009 No Label Yet If You're Interested Write To Planks A Gmx.Net And A Tour Of Skandinavia. Gimmick Well Gimmick... Planks Is All About Water. Their Lyrics And Artwork All Contain A Lot Of Images And Metaphors From Stories About Water-Related Topics Such As 20.000Leagues Below The Sea Moby Dick The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Etc. They Just Take Influnce From This Images But Not Actually Sing Things About These Stories. It's Kind Of Like "Leviathan" By Mastodon Just That They Don't Really Sing About Whales.
