"Nucleus" Is Dave Simms And "Paradox" Is Dev Pandya. Nucleus Aka Dave Sims Started Djing In 1986 Mixing And Scratching Hip Hop And Funk Breaks After Hearing Double D And Steinski S Lessons And Grandmaster Flash Adventures On The Wheels Of Steel This Inspired Him To Buy A 4-Track Tape Recorder And Start Making Break Mixes And Hip Hop Tunes With Local Rappers. In About 1988 He Started Going To Raves And Clubs Like The Dungeon Telepathy And Then Later Paradise Club Awol And Getting Into House And Early Breakbeat And Djing At Parties And Raves Staying With The Music As It Evolved Through Hardcore Jungle To Drum And Bass. In 1996 Nucleus Started Making Tunes With Dev Paradox For Nine Bar Records Made 2 12s And 1 Album As Noise And Paradox. In 97 The Duo Started Recording For The Lengendery Reinforced Records With A 12 Esoteric Funk/places And Spaces As Nucleus And Paradox And A Track Past Present Future On The Enforcers Lp.Followed By Another 12 This Side Of Fore Ever/decompositions. At The Same Time Releasing A12 On 720 Records Goodlooking The Nautilus And Nexus Records Good Looking Project 2/Persistence Of Vision As Alaska And Nucleus. The Duo Worked On Various Remixes Including 4-Hero For Talking Loud And James Hardway. The Next 12 Was Who? What?/No Spaced Place For Reinforced In 2000 Followed By Tracks As Nucleus On The Deadly Chambers Enforcers Lp And A 12 On Reinforced Called Gravity Point/Flim Flam And A Track Suspended Animation On The Scattered Snares LP On Marc Macs Twisted Funk Label. Over The Years Nucleus Has Djed At Various Events In Germany France Holland Hungary Australia Switzerland Norway And UK Playing Drum And Bass Funk Jazz Hip Hop House Disco Breaks Broken Beat Etc.And Had A Couple Of B-Boy Break Mix Tapes/cds Out With Break Dj Leacy. Paradox Is International Music Producer And Breakbeat Pioneer Dev Paradox. Paradox's Career Dates Back To 1989 When 'Mixrace' Was Formed With Partner DJ Trax. The First Professional Recording By Mixrace Was Eighteen Years Ago Back In 1990. The First Mixrace 12" Surfaced In 1991 On The Early Rave/breakbeat Moving Shadow Records Label. Trax And Paradox Both Only 17 At The Time Released The Early Mixrace Hardcore Classic 'Too Bad For Ya/The Future Is Before Your Eyes' SHADOW 018 Which At 180bpm Back In 1991 Was A Ground Breaking Slice Of Rave Hardcore For Its Era And Ironically Enough Seventeen Years On Can Be Mixed Into Today's Drum And Bass Dj Culture With Ease.. Timeless. Four More Releases Followed On The Moving Shadow Label And In 1994 Dev And Trax Set Up Their Own Stronghold Mobhanded And Offset Record Labels. New Artist Guises Surfaced In 1996 In The Forms Of 'Alaska' And 'Paradox'. Dev Wanted To Show His Diversity By Creating Two Different Genre's Of Drumfunk A Paradox Coined Term Now Classed As A Musical Genre With Alaska Being The Ambient Moniker Of The Two And The Name Paradox Exploring The Drum Patterns Of 1970's Funk. The Paradox Sound Exploded With A String Of 12" Releases On Renegade Hardware Certificate 18 And 4hero's Reinforced Records The Label To Whom Paradox Would Cement His Producer Status As The Godfather Of Breaks . 1998 Onwards And Paradox Almost Single Handedly Flew The Flag For Break Orientated Drum And Bass Pioneering The Sound And Giving Others Hope That The Music Would Live On Whilst Others Quickly Left In Droves To Copy The Latest Fill-Less Static Drum Pattern Rubbish.
