Lorez Alexandria B. Chicago 1929 D. 2001 Was A Jazz And Gospel Singer. She Began As A Singer In Churches In Her Teens And Spent 11 Years As Part Of An A Cappella Choir Directed By Lucshaa Allen. She Later Turned To Jazz And Remains Best Known For Her Album Lorez Alexandria The Great Impulse 1966 Which Featured Her In A Variety Of Contexts Ranging From Big Bands To Small Groups Including Several Tracks With The Wynton Kelly Trio.
