Dale Goodridge’s Music Is Clearly Inspired By The Lush Carefully-Crafted Albums Of Artists Of The ‘60s And ‘70s Who Wrote Performed And Recorded Every Song As Though It Was Their Last. Born And Raised In The United Kingdom His Soulful And Timeless Classic Rock Sound Is The Product Of A Persevering Work Ethic And Over Two Decades Of Honing His Production And Recording Skills And His Dexterity As A Multi-Instrumentalist. Today He Meticulously Hand Crafts Each Of His Original Songs Piece By Piece In The Studio He Single-Handedly Built Playing Every Instrument Himself Constructing Rich Layers That Resonate With Personal Yet Also Universal Significance. Music Deeply Influenced Goodridge Long Before He Felt The Calling To Create It. As A Child He Was Mesmerized By His Father’s Diverse Collection Of ‘70s Records Which First Ignited His Passion For Music. He Reveled In The Experience Of Holding The Vinyl Albums Of His Favorite Artists In His Hands And Poring Over The Covers As He Listened. Albums Such As AC/DC’s Powerage Scared And Excited Him In Equal Measure And Gave Birth To Emotions That Became The Strong Building Blocks He Would Later Use To Push His Creative Boundaries And Connect With The World Through His Art. Before He Even Picked Up An Instrument He Was Particularly Stirred By Stealer’s Wheel LPs Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” And The Beatles’ Abbey Road Album. As He Approached His Early Teens He Started To Fully Appreciate The Talent Detail And Hard Work Behind The Catalogs Of His Favorite Artists. And He Realized That The Way Music Had Shaped Him Had Already Put Him On A Very Unique Path And Set Apart From Most Of His Peers. Early On His Recognition Of The Uniqueness Of His Own Personal Development And Musical Journey Gave Birth To His Dedication To Ensuring That All Aspects Of His Professional And Personal Lives Would Revolve Around Music. At Age 12 Goodridge Learned How To Play Guitar And Began To Practice Avidly And Perform In School Bands. Through A Combination Of Talent And Determination He Quickly Added Bass Guitar – Which He Played In Every Band He Was A Part Of As A Teenager And Young Adult – To His Repertoire All The While Continuing To Study And Perfect His Guitar And Vocal Techniques And To Experiment With Other Instruments. Throughout The ‘90s Goodridge Performed And Recorded Often With Bands From Many Different Genres From Hardcore And Thrash To Pop And Became Well-Known Around His Hometown Of Bradford Yorkshire In England. One Of These Projects Homesick Released A Split 7” On The Dedicated Records Label The Same Label That Housed Psychedelic Artists Such As Spacemen 3 And Spiritualized. Homesick Had A Great Local And London Crowd Record Companies In Attendance At Most Gigs And Were About To Sign A Deal With A Major Label When Differences Within The Band Forced A Split. After The Dissolution Of Homesick Goodridge Began To Feel The Pull To Break Free From Traditional Band Dynamics. In 2000 He Was Particularly Moved By American Singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur And Began To Revisit Paul McCartney’s Experimental Self-Produced Solo Work And The Music Of Gerry Rafferty. And Once Again Studying The Work And Career Trajectory Of Other Musicians He Admired Sparked A Creative Change And Led Him To Crave The Challenge And Excitement Of Writing And Recording His Own Material. In 2001 He Started Teaching Himself Mixing And Engineering By Recording As Many Songs As He Could Write And Learning As Much As He Could About The Process Of Creating Great Records. And Now In 2011 He Is Finally On The Brink Of His First 7” Vinyl Single Release. Goodridge Continues To Develop As A Strong Solo Artist And Producer And Has Fully Embraced The Difficulty Inherent In Engineering Recordings Entirely By Himself That Sound Like They Have Been Created By A Band With Many Pieces. He Reflects Often On Two Events He Loves Most About Writing Performing And Recording Music The Feeling When A Song He Is Writing First Starts Gelling Even If Just By Accident When His Music Really Resonates And He Is Able To Connect On A Very Personal Spiritual Level With Someone Through It. And It Is An Almost Spiritual Bond To Music That Has Nurtured His Talent And Fueled His Years Of Hard Work. He Continues To Take Great Joy In The Feeling Of Falling In Love With A New Song A Joy That Is Communicated Through His Own Music And Helps Him Continuously And Fearlessly Grow As An Artist.
