Born On 9 November 1974 In Poland Anna Serafińska Went To Music School From The Age Of 6 Where She Studied Classical Violin For 12 Years As Well As Conducting. She Studied Jazz Singing Vocal Performance Composition And Music Arrangement In The Department Of Jazz Music Of The Karol Szymanowski Academy Of Music In Katowice Poland. She Holds A MA In Jazz And Popular Music Studies – Vocal PhD. In Vocal Techniques. Upon Completion Of Her MA In 1997 She Took Up A Teaching Position In Vocal Performance At The Academy. She Also Undertook Doctoral Studies And In January 2004 Was The First Person In Poland To Defend Her Thesis In Vocal Emission And Performance In Jazz And Popular Music And Was Granted A PhD Title. Anna Continues To Teach At The Academy Of Music In Katowice Alongside Her Performing Career. As A Performer She Participated In Numerous Singing Contests And Festivals Were She Was A Winner Of Several Prestigious International Competitions. In July 2004 She Was Awarded The First Price And Voted The Best By The Public At The Montreux Festival Jazz Voice Competition. In 2000 Readers Of The Prestigious Polish Magazine Jazz Forum As A New Hope Of Polish Jazz Voted Anna. Anna Has Been Working Live And In Studio Recording With Several Established And New Jazz And Popular Musicians On The Polish Music Scene. She Experiments And Performs With Different Shades Of Jazz - From Standards To Modern Jazz Improvisations Funk And Soul Leading Her New Band "Anna Serafińska Groove Machine". Anna Has Performed At A Variety Of Venues And Festivals Including Warsaw Jazz Jamboree Festival Tal-Kanzunetta Maltija Kaunas Jazz Jazz Bezin Lwow Ukrine Trytone Jazz Festival In Netherlands And Others As Well As On Radio In Musicals And In Television Productions. Serafinska Comfortably Deals With The Whole Spectrum Of Jazz Singing – From Classic Sounding Standards Through Modern Sounds To Funky And Soul Music. Anna’s Two Solo Albums Prove Both The Drive And Passion In Her Music Are Restless. . Anna Has Recorded Two Solo Albums NIEOBECNI The Absent 1997 POLYGRAM POLAND And MELODIES In 1999 For SONY MUSIC POLAND . In November 2004 Anna Has Released Her Latest Third Solo Album - “Cieplo Zimno” “Warm Cold” ZAiR/Polish Radio/Universal Music 2004. She Has Also Been Invited Frequently To Appear On Other Musician’s Recordings.
Anna Loves To Teach And Has Many Successful Students That Perform On The Polish Jazz And Popular Music Scene. At The Same Time Anna Is Continuously Studying Herself And Was Offered A Berklee’s Scholarship. read less
