The Trolls’ Story Started In 2005 When Thomas TrollOur And David TrollAklass Met And Gathered A Few Friends In View Of Forming A Melodic Death Metal Band. Following The Rapid Dissolution Of This Embryonic Group The Two Of Them Continued Playing Their Instruments Together. They Spent Time Testing All Sorts Of Riffs Unaware – At The Time – That Their Encounter Would Give Birth To A Folk Metal Band. With The Coming Of The Year 2006 Their Compositions Were Slowly Taking Shape. They Then Decided To Recruit Other Musicians In Order To Get The Project In Motion. They First Contacted Jimmy Trollent Asking Him To Join The Band Behind The Drums – Which He Accepted. All Three Of Them Were Motivated And With Percussions To Rhythm The Affair The Band Was Starting To Find Its Feet. But The Gang Wasn’t Going To Stop There. Promptly Alex Trollayd Integrated The Group At The Bass. End Of Spring Le Band Already Had A Few Well-Formed Compositions. The Thirst Of Playing A Concert Was Starting To Set In. In July They Finally Got Offered Their First Venue Except They Still Didn’t Have A Singer. Lacking Time To Find Someone TrollOur Sacrificed Himself For The Role. Satisfied By His Performance The Other Band Members Asked Him To Carry On As A Combination Singer/keyboard Player. Aktarum Was Then Created. Later That Same Year JF TrollToKill Joined The Group To Support TrollAklass At The Guitar. Also Thomas VM Herratroll Became The Band’s Manager. The Gang Of Trolls Went On Playing A Few Concerts In And Around French Brabant/ Brabant Wallon At The Same Time Composing More And More Elaborate Compositions. In 2007 The Band Really Took Off. Besides Local Gigs Aktarum Also Opened For The Band ENSIFERUM At The Belgian Date Of Their “European Tour Towards Victory 07” And Participated In The CERNUNOS PAGAN FEST In Paris With – Amongst Others – SKYFORGER ELUVEITIE And HEIDEVOLK. A First Promotional Demo Was Released With Very Limited Copies. Unfortunately Later That Year TrollToKill Left The Group. 2008 Was A Year Of Many Concerts Seeing As The Band Was Starting To Make A Name For Itself In The Kingdom Of Belgium! Subsequently They Decided To Release A Second Demo With Their Songs At Present. The Recording Took Place At TrollAklass’ Place With The Few Available Means. The Second Demo ‘We Are The Trolls’ Was Thus Born. Further On That Year The Group Left TrollAklass’ Home Behind Them As Their Rehearsal Space And Invested A 33m² Studio Which They Still Rent Together. Their Aim Was To Avoid Schedule Constraints So As To Be Able To Work On Their Music 24/7. In 2009 – On The 3rd Of January Precisely – Trollent Set Off On A 6 Month Study Programme To Arizona So As To Finish His Pilot’s License. The Period During His Absence – Poor In Concerts – Allowed The Group To Work On Their Future Album. Nevertheless As The Band Didn’t Want To Give Up Playing In Front Of Their Audience Mutch TrollaFrime Intervened As Session Drummer. Shortly After Pierre TrollAmentable Appeared In The Group As Well But At The Guitar. The Band – Complete Once More – Was Ready To Get Back On Stage. Many Concerts Took Place During Those Months Bretagne/Brittany Sin Session Hellfest … . But Trollent – Gone For Too Long – Was Cruelly Missed By His Fellow Band Members. They Decided To Pay Him A Visit To Take His Mind Off Things And In One Week They Went On A Road Trip Through Arizona California And Nevada. His Batteries Recharged Trollent Passed His Exams With Flying Colors And Returned Home An Airline Pilot. In July Of The Same Year The Work On The Album Could Finally Start. Following Two Months Of Touch-Ups And Other Preparations The Band Went Into The Studio For The Whole Month Of September. The Recording Took Place At “Black Out Studio” Under The Leadership Of Jérem’ Bassist Of ‘Enthroned’ And Of ‘Emptiness’ . By The Same Occasion Oli Guitarist Of ‘Enthroned’ And ‘Emptiness’ Who Did The Artwork. In November 2009 The Album Gang Of Trolls Was Born. 2010 Will Be The Year Of The Promotion... read less
