Elliot Koenig Formed SIXSTEP Back In 2004. This Name Came From A Superstition Elliot Had While Growing Up Where He Would Race Past The Sixth Step When Running Up The Staircase Of His Childhood Home. Getting To The 'six Step' Before Anyone Knew He Was Home Was For Elliot A Sign Of Good Things To Come. SIXSTEP's First CD “A Long Walk Home” Produced A Dark Meandering Sound With Chris Young’s Vocals Leading The Way. The Entrance Of Drummer Ben Harrison To The Band Began To Change The Sound Of SIXSTEP To An Edgier Rock Sound. But The Death Of Recently Departed Bassist Nate Ruiz Struck Elliot Hard In His Young Music Career The Impact Of Which Still Appears In Much Of His Music And Lyrics Most Notably “Not The Kind Of Road” . The New Direction Of SIXSTEP Grabbed The Attention Of Bassist Jason Glen Peed. Jason Joined SIXSTEP In 2006 And Al Rahn Stepped On Board The Next Year As Lead Vocalist. Months Later The EP “Par 5” Was Recorded And Released Announcing SIXSTEP's Newest Lineup With New Recordings Of Four SIXSTEP Favorites Jason’s First SIXSTEP Arrangement “Waiting For A Call” And A New Song “Urge” A Dynamic Ballad Featuring Tenor Saxophonist Ricky Hopkins. Ricky Also Joined SIXSTEP As A Permanent Member Not Long After That Along With Drummer Ruben Puebla Who Doubled As A Trombone Player On "Middle Ground". Today SIXSTEP Is Proud To Announce The Release Of Their New CD “A Dangerous World” Featuring The Lead Single “Middle Ground”. The Lyrics Reflect On The Turbulent Relationship Between Al Rahn And His Girlfriend Around The Time He Joined The Band.
