Myrna Loy Is Not Just The Name Of A Legendary American Actress But Also That Of A German Band Which Was Most Active In The Late 80s And Early To Mid 90s. In 1988 They Released A Demo Tape Called "Live Demo 1988" Which Contained 10 Songs That Could Roughly Be Described As "New Or Dark Wave". Only 4 Of Those Songs Were Also Featured On The Debut LP "I Press My Lips In Your Inner Temple". Myrna Loy's Sound On These Early Recordings Was A Unique Mixture Of 4AD-Like Soundscapes And Classical Wave-Structures. The Songs Were Romantic And Bombastic At The Same Time Owing Much Of Their Charisma To Singer Viktor's Voice And The Unusual Drums. Comparisons Were Made At That Time Between Myrna Loy And Bands Like And Also The Trees Largely Due To The Use Of Flanged Wave-Guitars In Some Of The Songs .
After "I Press My Lips..." Myrna Loy Changed Their Musical Style In The Direction Of Conventional Rock Music Leaving Many Of Their Early Fans Dissatisfied. read less
