Snook Was A Swedish Hip Hop Duo From Sundbyberg In Stockholm Active Between 2000 And 2007. They Have Released Two Full Albums And Several Singles. Their First Single Was Mister Cool In 2004 And Was A Major Hit In Sweden That Summer. The Group Consists Of Daniel "Danne" Adams Ray And Oskar "Kihlen" Linnros Both Born In 1983. Their Debut Album Came Out In 2004 And Is Called "Vi Vet Inte Vart Vi Ska Men Vi Ska Komma Dit". Snook Quickly Diversified From The Rest Of Swedish Hip-Hop With Different More Pop-Y Beats Consisting Of A Lot Of Piano And Also Elements Of Wind Instruments. The Album Was Also Much Debated Precisely Because Of Its Inability To Adhere To Hip-Hop's Stylistic Rules. The Album Was Loved From Many Quarters While Others Argued That What Snook Was Doing Could Not Be Called Hip-Hop At All. Their Second Album "Är" Was Released In Late April 2006. Their First Singles From The New Album Are "Snook Svett Och Tårar" And "Längst Fram I Taxin". They Also Won The Price For Best Swedish Artist At The MTV Music Awards 2006 And The Swedish 2006 Grammy Awards They Won Best Hiphop/Soul Act. After Snook Had Been Quiet Since The Summer Of 2007 Speculation Began To Mount That The Group Had Split Up. These Opinions Gained Ground Among Other Things Because Adams-Ray Took A Step Back From His Music To Instead Get Involved In The Clothing Brand "Lagom" Of Which He Is A Co-Founder At The Same Time That Linnros Began To Increasingly Produce Music For Others Artists Instead. In 2009 They Did A Couple Of Smaller Gigs In Places Like Visby And Härnösand But No Real Comeback Seemed Feasible. On September 22 2016 After Ten Years Without Collaboration Linnros And Adams-Ray Jointly Released The Single "Sitter På En Dröm". However The Single Was Not Released Under The Name Snook But Rather As The Two Solo Acts. The Two Also Performed Together At Adams-Ray's Gigs At Way Out West And Gröna Lund During That Same Year. Even During These Performances They Chose Not To Call Themselves Snook.
However It Is Still Unclear If The Group Snook Has Resurfaced Or If The Two Will Collaborate Further In The Coming Years. The Name Snook Actually Came From A Dispute Between The Two About Who Had The Biggest Nose A Slang Word For Nose In Swedish Is "Snok" . Whether They Resolved That Matter Or Not Remains Unknown But They Did Make It Known That The Two "o"s In Snook Stand For The Two Of Them And Their Noses. read less
