"Addicted" Is A Bold And Sassy Anthem About The Singer's Love For Drugs Particularly Marijuana. In The Lyrics She Pleads With Someone Who Is Constantly Smoking Her Weed To Buy Their Own Supply And Stop Using Hers. She Warns That If They Don't She May Become Aggressive And Attack Them. The Chorus Emphasizes The Importance Of Calling The "green Man" A Slang Term For A Drug Dealer So That Each Person Can Get Their Own Supply Of Marijuana. Winehouse Is Unapologetic About Her Addiction And Admits That Her Love For Drugs Is Stronger Than Any Man's Sexual Advances. In The Final Verse Winehouse Asserts Her Independence And Insists That She Will Continue To Smoke Her Own Homegrown Weed Regardless Of Whether Or Not She Has A Partner. The Song Can Be Interpreted As A Defiant Celebration Of The Singer's Carefree Lifestyle Where She Indulges In Drugs And Charts Her Own Course Without Being Tied Down By Societal Expectations Or Romantic Relationships.
