Daisy Correia Was Born In Amsterdam On 30 September 1986. Her Mother Is Portuguese And Her Father Is Dutch. Daisy Was Raised Bilingually And Her Portuguese Roots Have Always Been Very Important To Her. Daisy Was Very Young When Her Musical Talents First Showed. She Made Her First Stage Appearance At The Age Of 13 And From That Moment On She Knew That Music Was Going To Be Her Life. Daisy Started Out Singing Ballads And Later Turned To Pop/soft-Rock. In 2002 She Recorded The Album “It Ain’t Easy” And In 2005 The Album “Missing”. During Those Years She Won Many Talent Shows. In 2003 She Received An Award For ‘Most Promising Talent’ At The Pepsi Stage And She Became Second In The Sky Radio “Talent Of The Year” Competition. In 2002 Daisy Was Accepted At The AVLM Academy For Light Music For A Two Year Study. Next To That She Received Private Vocal Lessons From Singing Teacher Setske Mostaert Who Has Worked With Trijntje Oosterhuis And Ilse De Lange Amongst Others . At The Moment She Is Studying At The Academy Of Music.
At The Age Of 16 She Shared The Radio 538 Stage With Big Names Such As Bløf And Trijntje Oosterhuis At The Museum Square In Amsterdam On Queens Day. Various Other Large Festivals And Events Followed Such As Pepsi Stage Leidse Square Kwakoe And The Jordaan Festival. Since 2005 She Has Been A Regular Guest On Portuguese Television. She Made Appearances In Shows Like Portugal No Coração Contacto Gala Dos Talentos Praça Da Alegria And Dia Dos Avós In The Pavilhão Atlântico In Lissabon Where She Performed For 12.000 People. She Performed On TV Shows In Geneva Montreux Luxemburg Porto Lisbon Paris And Cologne Together With Stars Like Ana Moura Mafalda Arnauth And Robert Leal. In 2006 And 2007 She Recorded A Demo. She Received Assistance From Professionals Like Menno Timmerman Who Was Partly Responsible For The Carreers Of Both Ilse De Lange And Krezip And Bart Van Poppel Who Also Works With Loïs Lane And Ellen Ten Damme. In August 2007 Daisy Was Voted ‘Serious Talent’ On Radio 3FM. A Few Years Ago Daisy Was Introduced To Portuguese Fado Music And It Won Her Heart. She Introduced It In Her Repertoire And In 2008 She Decided To Switch To Fado Entirely. Theatre Shows With Fernando Lameirinhas “Fado Blue” 2008-2009 And “Saudade Do Futuro” 2009 – 2010 Have Only Confirmed That This Has Been The Right Decision. In 2009 She Recorded Her First Fado Album Called “Este Meu Fado” My Fado . On This Album She Sings Fado The Way She Feels It. The Album Contains Beautiful Songs Written By Fernando Lameirinhas. Next To Fernando Other Big Names In Fado Have Supported And Assisted Her Making This Album Including People Who Have Worked With Mariza The Renowned Portuguese Singer.
