Jack Starr Came On To The Rock / Metal Scene In 1982 When He Was Selected By Mike Varney Of Guitar Player Magazine To Appear On His Compilation Record Entitled U.S.Metal Volume 2. This Was The Start Of Many Great Things For This Quiet Unassuming Guitar Hero.
The Same Year He Founded A Band Called Virgin Steele With Joey Ayvazian Drums Joe O'Reilly Bass And A Singer Named Dave Defeis.
Due To Growing Tension Beetween Jack Starr And David De Feis Jack Starr Left Virgin Steele After Two Albums And Started A Succesful Career With His New Band Burning Starr Lasting Until 1989 When They Disbanded.
In 2003 Jack Starr Founded A New Band Guardians Of The Flame With Joe Hasselvander On Drums Ned Meloni On Bass And Shmoulik Avigal On Vocals And They Released The Album Called "Under A Savage Sky" Which Became The Biggest Seller In Jack's Lengthy Career Which Has Spanned Over 20 Years!
