Biographie de l'artiste pour Laboratoire Dubios

A French Guy Started The Band. Mathieu Dubois As A Saxofon Player Wanted To Play Around With The Percussionists In A Kind Of Laboratoire Athmosphere Mixing Sounds And Rhythms From Different Musical Styles And Traditions.
Meanwhile His Landlord In Berlin's In-Quarter Friedrichshain Got His Name Wrong When Installing The Door Bell And Called Him Mr. Dubios. Mathieu Liked That And It Just Fitted Perfectly What Was Happening At The Band Rehearsals Every Day So The Laboratoire Dubios Was Born.
Soon After Mathieu Dubois Followed A Love Story Which Led Him To Armenia And Was Never Seen Again. But The Band Continued Honouring Him In The Title Of Their First Album Chef Perdu. Laboratoire Dubios An Afro-Percussion Trio And A Brass Trio One Electric Bass Player In The Middle And That's It. No Drumset No Keyboards Or Guitar. A Woman And Six Men - Seven Musical Nomades In Berlin.
A Free Combination Of West African Rhythms With Improvisation On Modern Jazz And Own Compositions. The Driving Groove Of The Percussionists Their Percussive Solo Interactions And Rhythm Changes Would Collapse In The Cosmos Without The Bass Catching Their Energy Transforming It And Directing It To The Brass Section. The Brass Sections Alone Bring In Harmony Sometimes Lightly And Elegantly Sometimes Raw And Wild Sometimes Refined And Colourful. As Soloists The Brass Players Moves Like "flaneurs" Enjoying Their Freedom.
