There Are Two Artists Called Zuzu's Petals An All-Female Rock Trio From Minnesota Who Released Two Albums In The 90s And A Gospel And Folk Collective From Dripping Springs Texas Led By Austin Singer/songwriter Matthew Payne Minnesota Band Zuzu's Petals Were An All-Female Rock Trio From Minnesota Minneapolis Who Formed In 1988.
Made Up Of Singer/guitarist Laurie Lindeen Bassist Coleen Elwood And Drummer Linda Pitmon The Band Took Their Name From The Classic Film It's A Wonderful Life.
Signed To Independent Label TwinTone Once The Home Of Other Renowned Minneapolis Bands Such As The Replacements And The Jayhawks The Band Released Two Well-Received Albums During Their Short Career When No One's Looking In 1992 And Music Of Your Life In 1993.
After Splitting In 1994 Lindeen Went On To Marry Fellow Minneapolis Musician Paul Westerberg Formerly Of The Replacements And Made One Last Foray Into Music With The Solo EP A Pregnant Pause In 1998. She Also Penned An Acclaimed Novel About Her Days In Zuzu's Petals Called Petal Pusher A Rock And Roll Cinderella Story Published In 2007.
Meanwhile Drummer Coleen Elwood Was The Only Member Of The Trio Who Continued A Career In Music Recording And Touring With Former Dream Syndicate Frontman Steve Wynn As Well As Playing Drums In His Side-Project With Peter Buck Of R.E.M. The Baseball Project. Austin Music Collective Zuzu's Petals Is A Musicians Collective From Dripping Springs Tx. They Perform Largely Gospel And Folk Music. Lead Singer Is Austin Singer/songwriter Matthew Payne
