Tracy Chapman Cleveland Ohio - 30 De Marzo De 1964 Es Una Cantautora Estadounidense Ganadora De Varios Premios Grammy Y Conocida Por El Éxito De Canciones Como "Fast Car" "Talkin' Bout A Revolution" "Baby Can I Hold You" Y "Give Me One Reason". Desde Muy Pequeña Aprendió A Tocar La Guitarra Y Ya De Niña Empezó A Crear Sus Primeras Canciones. Es A Partir De 1980 Durante Su Etapa En La Universidad De Tufts En Massachusetts Donde Se Graduó En Antropología Y Estudios Africanos Cuando Comienza A Componer En Serio. Comenzó Cantando En Las Calles De Harvard Square En Pubs Y Cafés Nocturnos. Fue En 1988 Cuando Su Voz Se Dio A Conocer En Todo El Mundo. Se Trataba De Un Concierto Homenaje A Nelson Mandela Por Su Setenta Cumpleaños. Allí Cantó Ante Un Gran Número De Personas Y Junto A Importantes Artistas De La Música. Ese Mismo Año Hizo Su Debut Con El Disco "Tracy Chapman" Por El Cual Recibió Cuatro Premios Grammy Incluyendo El De Mejor Artista Nueva. Con Su Tema "Fast Car" Vendió Más De 10 Millones De Copias Siendo Un Rotundo Éxito En Todo El Mundo. Tracy Chapman Ha Cantado Junto Con Grandes Celebridades. Por Ejemplo Estuvo En El Concierto Homenaje A Bob Dylan Por Su 30 Aniversario. Ya En 1989 Sacó A La Luz Su Segundo Disco "Crossroads" El Cual No Obtuvo Tanto Éxito Como Su Predecesor Tal Vez Por Estar Demasiado Politizado. En 1992 Publicó Su Tercera Obra "Matters Of Hearts". Siempre Con Su Inconfundible Estilo Folk Y Con Su Guitarra Acústica En La Mano Tracy Chapman Iba Consiguiendo Nuevos Seguidores Que Admiraban Su Música Ya Que Despertaba En Ellos Sueños Provocados Por Las Historias Vividas Y Apasionadas Que Tracy Cantaba. En 1995 Editó El Disco "New Begining" Por El Cual Recibió Un Premio Grammy Y Cuyo Tema "Give Me One Reason" Llegó En 1996 A Los Top Ten De Estados Unidos Su Último Trabajo "Telling Stories" Se Lanzó En El Año 2000. En Este Disco Prueba A Añadir Los Últimos Adelantos Tecnológicos Orientados A Mejorar Su Imagen Aunque No Se Desplaza De Sus Raices Folk Y Country.
