Refused Fue Una Banda De Hardcore Punk Originaria De Umeå Suecia. En Enero De 1992 Dennis Lyxzén David Sandström Pär Hansson Y Jonas Lidgren Se Juntaron Por Primera Vez Y Ese Mismo Año Grabaron Su Primera Demo "Refused". La Banda Llegó A Publicar Una Demo Más Cinco EPs Y Tres Albums Antes De Su Ruptura En 1998. En El Momento De La Ruptura Los Mienbros De La Banda Eran Dennis Lyxzén David Sandström Kristofer Steen Y Jon Brännström. Dennis Lyxzén Siguió Su Carrera Formando The International Noise Conspiracy Y 93 Million Miles Mientras Que El Resto De Miembros A La Vez Que Comenzaban Proyectos Por Su Cuenta Formaron El Grupo TEXT. Kristofer Steen Se Encargó De Dirigir Un Documental Que Narraba El Último Año De Existencia De Refused Bajo El Título "Refused Are Fucking Dead". Tras La Publicación De "The Shape Of Punk To Come" Refused Decidió Hacer Una Última Gira Por Estados Unidos. Con Una Gran Tensión Dentro Del Grupo Todo Estalló A Los Pocos Días De Haber Comenzado La Gira. La Banda Decide Dejarlo Después De Un Concierto En Atlanta Georgia. El Vuelo De Vuelta A Suecia Ya Estaba Reservado Y La Banda Ya Se Preparaba Para Volver A Casa. Fred Ziomek Guitarrista De Darkest Hour Sus Compañeros De Cartel Durante La Gira Convenció A La Banda Para Que Diesen Un Último Concierto En El Sótano De Su Casa De Camino Al Aeropuerto. Toda La Banda Aceptó Y A Pesar De Que Únicamente Contaban Con Apenas Doce Horas Para Organizarlo Todo Alrededor De 400 Personas Acudieron. El Cartel Del Concierto Lo Componían Union Of The Snake Darkest Hour Frodus Y Refused. La Policía Se Presentó En La Casa Y Tony Weinbender El Encargado De Toda La Organización Del Concierto Consiguió Que El Concierto Pudiese Continuar. Durante La Actuación De Frodus La Policía Apareció De Nuevo Avisando "si Recibimos Otra Queja Y Tenemos Que Volver Os Llevaremos A La Cárcel". Weinbender Les Dijo Que Pararía El Concierto Pero No Lo Hizo. Al Poco De Haber Comenzado A Tocar Refused La Policía Entró En La Casa Y Se Abrió Camino Entre La Multitud Para Intentar Llegar Al Sótano. La Banda Entonces Comenzó A Tocar La Que Sería Su Última Canción "Rather Be Dead" Mientras La Policía Llegaba Al Sótano. La Canción Alcanzó Su Momento Estelar En El Momento En El Que Dennis Grita "rather Be Alive" Mientras El Micro Es Desconectado Literalmente Por La Policía Y La Banda Deja De Tocar. Toda La Gente Allí Reunida Continuó Cantando Los Versos Finales De La Canción "rather Be Alive!". Tras La Separación La Banda Publicó Un Escrito Bajo El Nombre De "Refused Are Fucking Dead" Refused Están Jodidamente Muertos .
