Frogtoon Música - Información de la canción: Our Song

"Our Song" is a song by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, taken from her self-titled debut studio album. Swift wrote the song for a high school talent show during ninth grade; the lyrics are about a young couple using the regular events in their lives to create their own song. She included the song on the track list because it was popular among her classmates. It was released as the album's third single on September 10, 2007, by Big Machine Records. Produced by Nathan Chapman, "Our Song" is an uptempo banjo-driven country track incorporating fiddles and drums. "Our Song" was part of Taylor Swift's self-titled debut album, which went Platinum on June 7, 2007. This made the 17-year-old Swift the first female solo artist to write or co-write every song on a Platinum-selling debut album. The album eventually went 7x Platinum. "Our Song" was #1 for six weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart. This placed Swift in a four-way tie for second place on the list of the longest-running #1 songs by solo female artists in the history of this chart. The record is held by Connie Smith, who spent eight weeks at #1 in 1964-65 with "Once A Day." Immediately before Swift reached the summit on the Hot Country Songs chart, Carrie Underwood reigned for three weeks with "So Small." This nine-week string of #1 songs by solo female artists is the longest in the history of the chart. Connie Smith's run with "Once A Day" was both preceded and succeeded at the top by solo male artist recordings. At the 2008 CMT Music Awards this won the video of the year award, plus female video of the year. When this reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on the chart week of December 22, 2007, Swift became the youngest performer ever to write and sing a chart-topping Country single. Swift recalled: "I just sat down one day with my guitar and got in a groove, and went with it. I like to write about how music affects people, and this was fun to write because it's about a couple who DOESN'T have a song. I like the banjo and you really can't go wrong with banjo. I wanted it to be last on the album, because the last line of the chorus is 'play it again'. Let's hope people take it as a hint to go ahead and play the album again. Haha!" In an interview with America Online (AOL) Taylor Swift was asked if there was a true story behind this song. The teenaged country singer replied: "I wrote this song in my freshman year of high school for my ninth grade talent show. I was sitting there thinking, 'I've gotta write an upbeat song that's gonna relate to everyone.' And at that time, I was dating a guy and we didn't have a song. So I wrote us one, and I played it at the show. Months later, people would come up to me and say, 'I loved that song that you played.' And then they'd start singing lines of it back to me. They'd only heard it once, so I thought, 'There must be something here!'" In an interview with Blender magazine, Swift said that this song was written about the same guy as in "Tim McGraw." She said that his name is Drew, and one night in 2008 when she was going out, he was in her driveway. She said, "It would have been really poetic and romantic if he showed up right after my album released, but it's been two years. I told him, 'It's really nice to see you. But you're too late.'"
