In 1992 Three Provincial Students Gregor Belušič Ivo Poderžaj And Erik Muševič Joined Forces To Make The Kind Of Music They Had Missed.
Heirs Of A Hard Core Group VI7K They Moulded Their Ruthless Expression As One In Direct Opposition To Sybaritic Alternative Music Of The Then Newly Established Pocket State Of Slovenia. In 1993 The Band Was Given Thought To After One Of Their Pieces Had Appeared On A Compilation Of Austrian German Croatian And Slovene Bands By The Present Day Head Of Ethnology And Cultural Anthropology Department At Ljubljana Faculty Of Arts Rajko Muršič Who Proclaimed ŽŽW The Most Important Novum On The Independent Music Scene. Soon The Band Joined Forces With Similarly Radical Counterparts From Croatia And Slovenia In The So Called The Other / Second League Project Which Was A Part Of A Wider Cultural-Political Movement Around The Association Of Tribal Comunities And Shamans. In 1994 Their Cassette Album Kabelski Kresovi Was Published And Mušević Left The Band To Be Replaced By Uroš Srpčić But Only Until After The Recording Of The Band’s Second Work ZIVLJENJE BREZ JANEZA / LIFE WITHOUT ANUS Which Was Partly Published On The Druga Liga Compilation CD In 1995 And In Its Entirety Ten Years Later. For Some Time The Band With An Acute Drummer Problem Actually Performed With Another Percussionist Mirsad Šabić On Few Occasions Side By Side With Srpčić On The Second Drum Kit. In 1995 Marjan Stanić Joined The Enterprise And Steered Its Expression Into Punky Meta-Ethnomusicological Currents. As Time Was Passing By Poderžaj And Belušič Were Meticulously Studying Free Jazz And Modern Classical Music Which Begot The Eclectic Stew Published On The 1998 Album Laibach-Tiranha. In The Same Year The Trio Recorded Its Essential 4-Minute Piece Noj And Published It In 2000 On A Compilation Paket Angažman Which Tried To Revive The Tribal Cooperation Of Bands From The Western Part Of Slovenia. After The Band Had Performed In All The Clubs In The Country More Than One Of Which Was Directly Or Indirectly Given Life To By The Assistance Of Belušič Poderžaj And Their Mates And Had Mainly Been Acknowledged Only By The Open-Minded Music Critics And A Small Group Of Followers The Band’s Literary Muse Decided To Embark On A Hunger Strike. Faced With Nothing To Say In Words The Pieces Could Become Structurally And Micro-Structurally Even More Complex And Harmonically More Daring Which Culminated In The 2004 Album Everyday In Every Sense I Less Regress First Published As A DIY But Thanks To Quickness Of Eric Boros Later Also At The Canadian Label Manufracture. Not Little Did Contribute To The Record’s Beauty The Recording Engineer Bojan Babič – Babo And The Onetime Tina Turner’s And Ice Cube’s Producer Bob Drake Who Also Mixed The Band’s Latest Album Cum Rectum Plenum Celibatare Facile Est. It Was Mastered By Gregor Zemljič And Published By Radio Student In 2008. The Album Itself And The Promo Concerts Have Been Received Exceptionally Well By The Expert As Well As The General Public.
In The Autumn Of 2008 ŽŽW Is Planning A Mitteleuropean Tour As Well As An Invasion To The British Isles.
After Sixteen Years Since Its Foundation Žoambo Žoet Workestrao Continues To Be The Guilty Conscience Of Self-Indulging Improvisers Pussy Rockers And Aristocratic Punkers. But We All Know What It Is Like With Guilty Conscience. Especially When There Are No PR Experts To Tell You You Are Mistaken.
