The Group Čuki Started In 1989. It Was Founded By Jože Potrebuješ And Marko Vozelj Who Met During Military Service And Vinko Cankar And Marjan Malovrh Who Had Previously Performed Occasionally Together. Their First Performance Was On November 11 1988. They Performed As A Trio Without Marko Vozelj Who Joined A Year Later. In 1990 They Released Their First Tape Entitled Na Licu Bela Solza And A Year Later The Tape Rdeča Mašna. 1992 Was A Turning Point For Čuki. They Created The Song Krokodilčki And Recorded Their First Music Video For It. Later They Also Recorded The Compositions Vsepovsod Ljubezen Ta Vlak Poletna And Hugo. In 1994 They Created A Music Video For The Song Zanzibar. It Was One Of The Most Expensive Slovenian Videos At The Time. The Film Was Shot In Three Days At The Viba Studio. The Main Roles Were Played By Jože Potrebuješ And Marko Vozelj. Friends And Relatives Of The Group Members Also Helped As Extras. In Total It Was Created For 15 Minutes Of Material.
In 1995 Čuki Recorded The Hit Kavbojci In Indijanci The Video For Which Was Directed By Branko Đurić - Đuro And Was Created In One Shot On A Lathe At The Litostroj Factory. In The First Decade They Received The Popularity Winner Twice For The Most Popular Musical Personality Or Group - The First Time In 1993 And The Second Time In 1995. They Were Also Nominated For 1996 But That Time It Was Won By Adi Smolar. In 1997 The Album Zobar Was Released.
In 1998 Keyboardist Marjan Malovrh Left The Band. As A Substitute Jože Potrebuješ Invited His Cousin Matjaž Končan To The Group. In The Same Year Čuki Recorded Their First Show Čuk TV - A Big Show That Contained All Of Their Own Videos And A Feature Program Directed By Themselves. The Songs Štorklje And Hozntregarji Followed. In 2000 They Recorded A Cassette With Folk Entertainment Content Titled Narodni Čuki With Songs Such As Kraljestvo Naše Sreče S Kitaro Po Stari Ljubljani And Ta Sosedov Francelj And The Song Ferrari Polka In Which Sports Commentator Miran Ališič Took Part. In 2002 They Recorded A Compilation Of Previous Hits Čuki - Za Podnevi In Ponoči Hiti 1989 - 1999.
In 2003 The Song Komar Followed In Which Pika Božič Participated. Also In The Same Year They Recorded The Musical Božič S Čuki. In 2004 The Hit Song Hubba Bubba And Its Video Of The Same Name Were Created. In 2005 They Recorded The Folk Music Hit Ena Po Domače In 2006 The Song And Music Video Pancer Tanc And Hit Mi Gremo Pa Na Morje. In The Show Spet Doma On RTV Slovenia They Introduced Themselves With The Song Greva Gor V Hribe.
In 2008 Marko Vozelj Left The Band To Embark On An Independent Musical Journey. He Was Replaced By Jernej Tozon. In 2011 Čuki Recorded A Compilation Album With Songs From The Children's Show Ribič Pepe On RTV Slovenija. This Was Followed By Hits Such As Zdaj Pa Kozarce Vsi V Zrak Which Was Created On The Occasion Of The 25th Anniversary Of Slovenia's Independence. In February 2017 Bassist Vinko Cankar Left The Band Due To Retirement. Miha Novak Joined In His Place. Shortly After His Arrival Čuki Recorded A Video Clip For The New Song Ruzak.
In 2018 Čuki Performed At The Jubilee Concert In The Gallus Hall Of Cankarjev Dom Marking Their 30th Anniversary. The Concert Featured Well-Known Musical Guests Such As Modrijani Jan Plestenjak Alfi Nipič Ribič Pepe Mama Manka Tilen Artač Prifarski Muzikanti Vili Resnik And Boris Kopitar And Former Band Members Marjan Malovrh Vinko Cankar And Marko Vozelj. In 2019 The Release Of The Album Punca Drž' Se Stran Od Mene! Which In Addition To The Title Track Of The Same Name Also Contains Songs Such As Če Se Od Spominov Da Živet Presented The Year Before In Which Kvatropirci Participated. In 2022 On The Last Day Of The 14th Season Of Ribič Pepe's Show They Released A New Song Avtobus On Their Official YouTube Channel. The Children's Program Of RTV Slovenia Ribič Pepe And The Dancers Of Plesno Mesto Participated In The Recording Of The Song. They Also Recorded The Hit Ma Ni Da Ni With The Singer Alya.
