There are at least two artists who use the name Freeda: 1. Freeda are an Indie-Rock band formed in 2017 in Manchester, England. Sean Rowles on Vocals, Callum Hignett on Lead Guitar, Cameron Meekums-Spence on Rhythm Guitar, Daniel Atherton on Synth, Adam Barton on Bass and Adam Jackson on Drums. Highlights so far include selling out their headline slot at the iconic Deaf Institute in Manchester, playing numerous festivals including Y Not Festival, Tramlines, Dot 2 Dot and 110 Above, and amassing over 500,000 views across social media platforms for their series of videos “The Corona Sessions”. 2019 also saw the band start up a production partnership ​with highly acclaimed production duo Sugar House.​ After a successful run of festivals and single releases over 2019, Freeda ​were determined not to let lockdown slow them down over 2020/21. Over this period Freeda released three singles: ‘Let Me Down’,‘ 5AM’ and ‘Young’, which saw the band reach in excess of 250,000 streams on Spotify and gain their first National Radio playlisting on Radio X. In June 2021, in partnership with Sugar House, ​Freeda ​released their latest single ‘Young’ which received extensive backing from BBC Introducing and continued support from XS Manchester and Amazing Radio. To celebrate the release of their latest single “Sundown”, Freeda played a headline show in their hometown at Manchester Academy 3 - their largest headline show to date. 2. Freeda (real name: Katarina Djordjevic Freeda; born April 13th) is a hip-hop singer from Kragujevac, Serbia. She started to song writing when she was 11, afterwards she recorded her first song "Suocavanje sa sobom" (Confrotation to yourself). Since than, she started to perform and continue with writing and making new songs. She won Streetflow Competition that year, as the only female MC of her caliber. In 2010 she got call to perform on International Music Festival. In 2011 she was on the reality TV show "Serbian's God Talent". She made it to the semi-finals. While she didn't win, she conveyed her message through her song; which dealt with bullies she's encountered in her life. Her album "Suocavanje" (Confrotation) is a composite of her emotions and opinions. She is guest on alot of mixtapes, most notably "Sounds of Balcanic Streets" in 2012. Her influences are Nas,Promoe, Onyx, Krs One, Busta Rhymes, Eminem & Lil kim.
