Liberty X Were Formed In 2001 After The Members Weren't Selected For Hear'say The Official Group For The ITV1 Talent Show Popstars. Michelle Heaton Kevin Simm Tony Lundon Kelli Young And Jessica Taylor Then Formed A Brand New Group Initially Dubbed Liberty. Their First Single "Thinking It Over" Cracked The UK Top 5 Surprising Fans And Skeptics Alike. A Second Single "Doin' It" Did Not Chart As Well As Their Debut Making A Modest Impact At #14. At The Same Time The Group Was Also Addressing A Lawsuit Concerning Their Name. The Matter Was Resolved By Adding An 'X' To Their Band Name A Decision That Took Into Account Suggestions From Their Fans. Liberty X Scored A UK #1 Hit With The Release Of Their Third Single "Just A Little". With Sales In Excess Of 500 000 Units "Just A Little" Ended As The 7th Best Selling Single Of 2002. Their Success Was Maintained With The Release Of Both "Got To Have Your Love" UK #2 And Its Parent Album Thinking It Over Which Debuted In The Top 3 Of Their Respective Charts. This Was Followed By Another Top 10 Success "Holding On For You". Their Debut Album Eventually Earned Multi-Platinum Recognition Selling Close To 750 000 Units In The UK. The Band's Second Album Being Somebody Followed In 2003. Three Additional Top 20 Hit Singles Came From This Record "Being Nobody" UK #3 "Jumpin" UK #6 And "Everybody Cries" UK #13 . Being Somebody Became Certified Gold And Sold Over 200 000 Copies In The United Kingdom. Their Third Full-Length X Was Released In 2005. Despite The Fact That It Spawned Another Two Additional Top 10 Singles For The Group It Became Their Least Successful Album To Date. The Singles Released From This Album Included "Song 4 Lovers" UK #5 And A Remake Of Shalamar's Classic "A Night To Remember". Liberty X's Version Which Peaked At #6 In The UK Was Used As The Official Track For The Children In Need Charity. The Third Single To Be Released From The Album Was The Title Track "X" But Due To Lack Of Proper Promotion It Peaked At #47. Their Album X Peaked At #27 In October Of 2005 And Sold Over 50 000 Copies. In May Of 2007 The Band Announced That They Were Splitting Up Stating That The Music World Had "changed Too Much Since We Began". They Are All Still Friends And Are Currently Working On Solo Projects.

Being Somebody Is The Sophomore Studio Album By English-Irish Pop Vocal Group Liberty X. It Was Released On 3 November 2003 Via V2 Records. The Album Was Released A Year-And-A-Half After Their Debut Release Thinking It Over. Being Somebody Peaked At #12 On The UK Albums Chart Selling Around 75 000 Copies In Its First Week Of Release. It Includes Three Successful Singles The Richard X Collaboration "Being Nobody" Which Peaked At #3 Fan Favourite "Jumpin" #6 And The Ballad "Everybody Cries" #13 . On The Japanese Version Of The Album There Is Also The Group's Collaboration With Kool & The Gang A Reworking Of The Latter's Hit Single "Fresh" Which Was Included On The Kool & The Gang's 2005 Greatest Hits Collection The Hits Reloaded. While Not As Commercially Successful As Their Debut Effort Being Somebody Still Ended Up Being The 15th Best-Selling Album In The UK For 2005.
